My friend has been working on "Home automation" project using MetaWear CPRO . He wanted the device to be wearble and easy to use, so I worked on designing a ring as a prototype to hold the circuit.
I start desgining using solidworks
After the design was finished, I used "MAKERBOT DESKTOP" to preview the design and customize the printing sittings.
Afterwards, I used "MakerBot Replicator 2"
After removing all the support layers, I used a black paint spray.
I found out the design has some problmes, some of the The circuit's support has broken when I start to remove the support layers. Currently I am working on modefing this design to make the ring more comfortable, and the circuit's support more stronger.
3D scanning is a very interesting subject. I wsa looking for something interesting to be scanned, and I found a sculpture of Bastet Which was a goddess in ancient Egyptian religion
I start the scanning process by taking several photos of the sculpture in different angles.
Follwing I used AUTODESK 123D Catch to create a 3d model from the pictures.
Then I selected and deleted the extra edges
To make the part ready to print, I imported the part to Autodesk Meshmixer
And I used "Plane Cut" tool ro remove the lower edge, and used "Hollow" tool to make the part use less materials and time during printing.
Then I exported the part as "STL" file and opend it on "MakerBot"
